Shruthi was born into a family filled with music. From her early age, she learnt Carnatic classical music from her mother, Vid. Smt. Sharada Shashidhar. Her mother was a renowned artist on AIR (All India Radio) and would perform at various concerts, where Shruthi would also participate as a backing vocalist. Shruthi would also perform at various events as a child prodigy.
While she went on to pursue medicine as a career, her passion for music stayed strong and manifested as one-half of The Singing Sheep. Today, Dr Shruthi MK uses her voice and her keen sense of music to compose music as well.
Deepak comes from a humble background in the temple town of Udupi. He developed a keen interest towards music at an early age and would spend most of his time singing and playing his keyboard, trying to imitate the tunes he heard on TV.
With no formal training in music, Deepak still continued on his journey to explore various facets of music. He became a self-taught drummer and DJ, later transitioning into mixing and composing. His quest led him to work with renowned musicians, which served as a foundation for him becoming one-half of The Singing Sheep today.
Deepak's compositions delve into modern soundscapes while preserving the roots of traditional sounds.
